new coffee machine – DeLonghi Eletta – review

While I was at the Good Food & Wine Show, I popped into the DeLonghi stand to have a look at the new range of coffee machines. Not necessarily because I wanted a new one (I have 2 already) but because I wanted to see the new Eletta especially as it comes in gloss white and black. I must say…I fell inlove with the white finish…just a little.

The coffee machine is not only gorgeous and stylish but so functional as well. It has the patented LatteCrema system…which means a perfect cappuccino every time (what more could you want).  It is also so versatile, you can use it to make a variety of coffees – flat whites, espresso macchiatos, lattes…the options are endless.

For me the best thing is that it will make my coffee the way I like it – weak & milky…yum! However, of course it can make it strong and black – the way my husband enjoys it.

Another feature that I thought was awesome – is that it has an automatic cleaning function…the system cleans all the milk frother components with steam and water without any effort on my part. Huge bonus as there is nothing worse than having to clean the machine everytime you have had a cappuccino…thanks DeLonghi for such great technology!

After having seen it, touched it and tasted the delicious coffee it made…I am a little tempted to upgrade my current DeLonghi machine. However, at this stage the price tag is slightly more than my budget allows *sad face*.

The DeLonghi Eletta White retails for approx R12 500 while the Black retails for R12 000. Both machines can be found at Hirsch’s or Dion Wired.

Isn’t it a beautiful coffee machine?
