The first thing that needs to be said about this restaurant is that the view is spectacular. Your look out onto the Sandton skyline, and I can just imagine how magical it must be at sunset.

Ok, now, back to the restaurant. I was invited to Higher Ground for a blogger dinner, organised by Hello Joburg magazine, called Hello Recommends. I have never been to one, and had such fun and met some awesome people. We were spoilt with cocktails made by Patron Silver…they were delicious – Appletizer & Patron is a must try! We were also spoilt by Cadbury Dairy Milk, they gave us each their new Cadbury Dairy Milk Silk chocolate to try – it was divine (read my post on it here)

The Food

I started with grilled calamari. The portion was the perfect size for a starter, it left enough space for me to enjoy my main meal, without feeling over full. The calamari, was delicious & well cooked.

For mains, I had a stuffed chicken breast. It was stuffed with olives, red peppers and sun-dried tomato. The flavour combination was amazing, it made me feel like I was sitting somewhere in Italy. The only negative, which to be honest is barely even a negative, there was too much stuffing and too little chicken. I know this is not normally the problem one has, but I wished for a little more meat. However, it was delicious.

Dessert, my favourite part of any meal! I had a strawberry cheesecake. It was deliciously paired with a cappuccino. The cheesecake, was just sweet enough, cream and yummy!

Service & Decor

The decor is simple, and a little mismatched for my taste but still pretty. The service was excellent, our waiter was very attentive and was quick to fix any problems we experienced.

Overall Impression 

The food is good, wholesome & tasty. It was a great experience and I would definitely go back. However, this time I would like to try a delicious breakfast while soaking in the sun and the gorgeous view!
