Us, South African’s are all break mad…really every day is braai day for a lot of us. The creator of this innovative and delicious braai salt recipe, is Jackie Cameron, who is a top SA chef. To get the best flavour out of the fresh ingredients, they are freeze-dried, roasted and then proud…which is not your typical spice process…it definitely gives the break salt lots of flavour!
For me it’s quite a unique tasting braai salt and is amazing on lamb…as well as most other meats. It consists of a blend of sun-dried Oryx Desert Salt, garlic, sun-dried tomato, masala, coriander, ginger, black pepper, cinnamon, rosemary, turmeric, cumin, all spice, paprika and a touch of sugar.
Its an all-natural product, so there could be slight variations in colour and texture…so don’t let that worry you as they taste divine!
Even though it is a braai salt…it’s also great on other things like roast veggies…or anything that could go with a little spicing up.
