By now I am sure you know that I LOVE peanut butter…so you can imagine my delight when I discovered I can make peanut butter and other nut butters in the Thermomix! After a little experimenting, i found that the best peanut butter is simple and very quick to make. If you like our peanut butter a little sweeter, you can add some castor sugar or some honey…about 20g.
Don’t forget to make sure that you put the peanut butter in a sterilized glass jar, you can sterilize the jar and lid by placing it in your oven for about 20 mins at 100 °C. I also recently read that you can sterilize your bottles by running them through the dishwasher. Properly storing your homemade peanut butter is very important.
Storing homemade peanut butter
- As this is fresh peanut butter and doesn’t contain any preservatives, it needs to be stored in the fridge for 2 – 4 weeks
- It can be frozen for up to 6 months, when you want to use it, thaw the peanut butter completely in the refrigerator before use
Hope that you enjoy this quick and easy peanut butter recipe!
